Narrators Huw Parmenter and Sam Newton bring listeners up close and personal with British prep school boyfriends Charlie and Nick in this novella set after the events of the HEARTSTOPPER graphic novel series. It's the end of the school year--and the more Nick talks about being excited to go to university, the more Charlie, who has another year to go at Truham, worries that their relationship won't withstand the distance. Oseman's writing is incredibly appealing, and in alternating first-person chapters, Parmenter and Newton bring out all of Charlie and Nick's humor, charm, and teenage angst. Narrators Joe Jameson and David Stagg tenderly deliver this touching audiobook. Nick, voiced by Stagg with optimistic confidence, can't stop talking about how excited he is to start university. Charlie, voiced by Jameson with breathy uncertainty, fears facing his last year in high school without his boyfriend. Nick can't tell what's going on as Charlie's anxiety spirals out of control, and the two wonder if their relationship can survive long distance or if they should just break up. Both narrators have British accents, and their timbres complement the differences in the emotional ranges of both boys.
